Message Shortly after New Years, I put my Z into a neighbor's yucca. Whether this was a result of incompetence or improper winter preparation, I'll leave as an exercise for the reader. In any case, this was the result

This tore up the RH intercooler pretty good.

After pulling the fascia, I found that the RH fog light housing was pretty well done for, too.

So, I decided to go ahead with a few upgrades as long as I was in there. I put together a set of Z1 motorsports intercoolers, a 1999 JDM Fairlady Z fascia, and a custom silicone intercooler line setup. I'm hoping for Ash's 2.5" setup to come out soon, since I'd like to put those in there, as opposed to the crappy job I did (just a bead around the ends of some 2" exhaust pipe with silicone couplers).

Here everything is ripped out.

Here is from the driver's side - I hadn't yet removed the LH or RH intercooler (I was test fitting the ducting for use with the fascia).

Almost two weeks ago now, I picked it up (I had someone else paint and fit the fascia). I also modified the smoked turn signals to accept the US style lamps (with driving light filaments). Unfortunately, the body shop re-installed the air temp sensor under the bumper, so I spent the better part of the weekend taking the bumper off again and re-relocating the sensor.

So that's my sojourn over the past few months. I'll think three or four times about putting the Z on the road in inclement weather again.

Hope you like it as much as I do.

Not *strictly* Z-related, but one of the reasons why it took almost two months is my son, Jason, who was born on 2 Feb.

The other reason it took so long is work-life. It sucks to be gone with an infant at home, but I'm caught out in San Diego for the next two weeks. I can't wait to go home.

Your powers are useless! I'm wearing my tinfoil underwear!
